IRN4C Infrared tyre temperature sensor
This infrared tyre temperature sensor reads four channels up to a maximum temperature of 200°C and can operate over a distance of up to 950 mm.
Product Description
This infrared tyre temperature sensor reads four channels up to a maximum temperature of 200°C and can operate over a distance of up to 950 mm, allowing for mounting in the leading edge of the side pod or the wing mirrors (for front infrared tyre temperature measurement). Output is via a fully user-configurable CAN 2.0 B system. The IRN4 infrared tyre temperature sensor series is extensively used in F1 by over 90% of the grid! The Texense IRN4 combines perfect accuracy at 200°C (±1% FS) and great temperature compensation, making it the ideal solution for measuring infrared tyre temperature across the whole surface of the tyre, even in extreme conditions. The quality of design, dimensions (31 x 11 x 17 mm) and weight with cable (only 15 g) means it is easy to install. At long ranges such as 950 mm, the outer channels bleed into the sidewall of the tyre and capture critical data when steering angle is applied. The latest 2014 version of the IRN4 infrared tyre temperature sensor comes complete with a user changeable lens cover system that does not affect the calibration. The lens covers are available separately. Like most Texys infrared temperature sensors, it accepts an input voltage between 6 and 16 V, which can be direct from the vehicle’s power supply, as can the ground.
